The alignment of the adapter plate, bellhousing, and tranny is VERY important. Using the front bearing retainer from the NV4500 tranny is the trick to getting everything aligned properly.
Bellhousing MUST be modified for this adapter kit to be installed.
By using the bearing retainer from the tranny to align the adapter plate to the centerline of the bellhousing, you can be assured that the tranny is centered on the engine crankshaft.
Use the bearing retainer from the NV4500 to line up the adapter plate to the bellhousing.
Using the bear retainer from your NV4500 tranny, align and bolt up the adapter plate to the bellhousing.
Now you should have the adapter bolted tight to the bellhousing with the bearing retainer from the tranny as an alignment tool.
The bearing MUST have both spring clips caught under the fork fingers.
Incuded in your kit are Grade 8 Lock nuts to be used to install the adapter plate to the bellhousing and the Tranny. Locktight can be used with them if you want but the nuts are self locking.
The bearing MUST have both spring clips caught under the fork fingers.
